We’re pretty happy, but that doesn’t mean we’re not greedy. Sometimes we see things there that we just have to have. Cool Things We Want is an archive of these earthly desires.

We are seriously wrong these Japanese food sample containerscurrently available in the Mount Pleasant Lifestyle Shop, Itsumo. The containers are part of their “Made in Tsubamesanjo” (really, we want it all) collection, showcasing an assortment of household accessories from Tsubamesanjo, Niigata Prefecture – a city in Japan that is apparently renowned for its metal processing, state of the art manufacturing methods and traditional craftsmanship.

The clever stainless steel containers are available in two shapes and sizes – square ($135) and rectangle ($230) – and are touted for their safety, strength and durability, making them ideal for sorting and storing scraps of food and pantry items. Bonus points for their clean look. It’s time to get organized!

The complete ‘Made in Tsubamesanjo’ collection will remain in stores and online until March 6. check it out here.

why we care

We know it takes a lot of courage, hard work, and sacrifice to run a small business, and we’re giving great props to Itsmo owner Natsumi Akatsuka. Its boutique’s selection of exclusively made-in-Japan homewares is all we aspire to live with. Itsumo’s focus on functionality, timelessness, quality and craftsmanship are values we respect and want to invest in. We think more people should do it.
