Threads is the biennial fundraiser of the Missouri Historical Society, benefiting the collections, textile conservation program, exhibits, and general operations of MHS. Threads provides a unique and creative platform to educate and engage new audiences while showcasing MHS’ extensive collections of clothing, accessories and home textiles, dating from the early 18th century to the present day, amounting to over 20,000 pieces altogether. Each Threads event has a different theme, helping to tell some of the richest untold stories of these treasures. The theme for 2022 is Threads: It’s all about accessories.
Inspired by the collections of the Missouri Historical Society and the historic traveling fashion exhibit Theater de la Mode, local professional and student designers will showcase their final garment on a 15-inch half-scale form.
