TEHRAN – The value of exports from Alborz province increased by 176% in the first five months of the current Iranian calendar year (March 21 to August 22), compared to the same period of the year latest, a provincial official said.
Hamid Ahmadi, director general of the Alborz province customs department, said 98,000 tons of goods worth $82 million were exported from the province during the five-month period, also indicating a 136% increase in weight.
He named evaporative cooler, pasta, all kinds of medicines, tea, detergents, chemicals and plastics, electronics and electrical appliances and foods as main exported items and Iraq, Afghanistan, United Arab Emirates, Turkey, Somalia, Kenya, Kazakhstan, Russia, India. and Pakistan as major export destinations.
The official further announced that 37,000 tons of products worth $289 million were imported into the province in the first five months of this year, with a 5% increase in value and a decrease in value. 2% of the weight from one year to the next.
He named production line machinery, loose tea, refrigeration compressors, home appliance parts and accessories, computer monitors and parts, medical equipment, all kinds of medicine and electrical parts and electronics as the main imported products, and the United Arab Emirates, China, Turkey, South Korea, France, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, Hong Kong and India are the main sources of importation during the said period.
